Brunt Force

Was wondering if I'm using this skill wrong or is it really bugged? It says its used after chain #4, which a normal plant gives 4, no big deal so I try to use it on a plant that gives me a+1 to yield since I'm using the GP to effect HQ chance.

Well it doesn't light up on that fifth attempt so I go ahead and finish off the plant yet when the fifth is hit then it lights up.

Was it intended to only be used after the fifth one? I remember back in beta that the nodes had more 'health' but surely this would have been fixed wouldn't it? Then again considering that my 'Ward of the Twelve 2' ability still says Cluster's aren't available in Beta when I'm on my Botonist ... so anyway anyone else having issues with this ability?
