Ive taken up gladiator recently and have been thinking it would be really nice to have block come up as floating combat text. It'd make using phalanx much easier to do. This also applies to parry and marauder. Pugilists can see evasion so why shouldn't block and parry be easily seen since there are skills that require it to happen first.
Marauder can see parry too, each time a big red 0 pops up it means you're parrying.
That covers some of them but there are still partial parries where you do take damage. Those do count towards the using of abilities that require parry.

I completely agree with this idea. Simply because I too play glad, and have trouble seeing as it is. To shuffle through combat text in the chat window is very difficult. The shear act of it makes something like Pugilist an impossible task for me.
It also goes without saying, but this was in FF11. I trust that the development team may like the idea too, and just not have put it in yet. This is something that would benefit us a lot, so I think you should put it in, if its not something already in the works.
Yeah... Its really weird using Aegis Boon and not seeing any notification for when to use Phalanx. I usually just resort to mashing Phalanx till it goes off.
I'm almost certain thats a bugged that has gonna overlooked for a long time.
