Is it possible to change your Grand Company at max rank?

This is just a question I have because I've been sitting on Sergeant with 40,000 seals for a while now. I read somewhere that you can change when you're a Sergeant or Lieutenant, but it didn't say if you can change at max rank or not.

Yes, it's possible. In fact, your first change is free of charge. I'm planning to change to all of them simply for achievement values and to get all the minions.

Thanks for the fast and clear response. I accidentally chose Serpent when choosing, and I thought I was talking to Maelstrom at the time of choosing (skipping dialogue.) I would eventually like to unlock everything from all of them though.

I know that we can't wear GC gear that is not from our current GC. Can we call minions that is not from our current GC?

I'd imagine we'd be able to. The minions are a universal thing and I don't think there's any systems in place that wouldn't allow us to.

They are frozen for that Grand Company. Meaning, they stay in place for that Grand Company until you switch back to it. They're all seperate.

Question about the 'free of charge' part. Which type of currency will they charge for you to switch? Your GC seals or your gil?

I swapped from 2nd LT Immortal Flames to Twin Adders a few days ago. As noted already, your previous GC's seals are frozen and you can't wear any of your old GC's gear until you swap back to them. In addition, you start at the lowest rank for your new GC and have to work your way back up (GC Hunting Log, promotion quests, etc). Once you make the change, you're locked out of changing GCs again for 30 days.
