Dungeon Mechanics - Post Your Ideas!

Are there any monster, boss, or dungeon mechanics from other games/MMOs that you enjoyed, and would work well in Eorzea?

Do you have any ideas of your own that you'd like to see in the game?

(Please refrain from commenting about currently implemented mechanics. The exception is if you'd like take current mechanics to an entirely new level)

no i want ff14 to be ff14, not WoW mechanics in my ff14, christ

I would enjoy seeing a boss similar to Yunalesca from FF X.

Imagine a select few classes (paladin, bard, scholar, White Mage, Summoner, Black Mage) being able to cast zombie, and huge stationary boss that randomly puts zombie on some people and cycles through casts like Holy and LvL5 Death. So you have to work on a certain number of people always having zombie on them, while the other half need to not have zombie. Otherwise everybody dies, it would bring rezzing as a huge part of the battle too. You could add in things like Doom, possible to avoid with Zombie.

You could even make it so one tank has zombie and has to be healed by BLM casting some sort of damage spell on him. It just sounds like an all around Skill fight. And WHM could cast Cure 3 to do damage to the boss when she is in zombie form.

Another thought which has not been fully realized by me would be some sort of Ex Warrior of Light, just some kind of boss that can use Limit breaks. The issue i have with this idea is i haven't actually figured out a way to manipulate the enemy lb so they dont just mega flare and rape everyone or something.

Um, I hate to inform you but ...

Today I spent over an hour waiting to get into two dungeons, with no success. I registered with the duty finder, but I never got into the dungeon. They've set up the quest chain so I can't do any other quests until I get through these, and I can't even get into them. I have better things to do with my time.

Did you just randomly pop into a thread to cry because you're too lazy to make a group?

Like FF3:
I'd like a dungeon in which you need to be magically resized in order to get past obstacles, making you having to deal with normal sized mobs as if they were massive bosses.

I would like to see something's such as a shared Dmg ability where you have to group up to take a hit or tanks having to tank either beside or in a line to take certain moves or risk a really heavy hit. I would say playing on a class or two like a pally infront of a warrior to part a magic attack and then the warrior there to prevent a big heavy weapon coming down on the pally 's head

I really like that zombie idea would change things up a bit and sticks to the ff gameplay mechanics

Pretty sure Odin has this mechanic.

Haven't seen the Odin fight yet because I can't be on during prime time >.<
