when i press ESC .. I want what I wrote to be deleted .. instead of Backspaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace

press shift+home to select the whole line, hit delete

works everywhere, pretty standard.

Pressing the slash key ("/") also clears the chat bar.

Too much work, and it still doesnt work as easily as escape. I agree with OP, its also annoying to see that a sentence you was writing to one person, is sent to another cause you forgot to send it after crafting or something like that.

CTRL+A also selects the whole line.

But personally they could add the option to have ESC work to delete text if you want. I've already gotten used to it working this way.
