A Relic Reborn - Progress Lost

I have gotten my unfinished Gae Bolg (still in my inventory).

I was in a Hydra group and my client crashed as I was zoning into the Hydra fight. I was unable to return for a while, but when I got back my quest progress had been reset. I now have to rebuild the weapon including materia and start the quest all over again, despite having the unfinished Gae Bolg in my bags.
