I had previously completed the original v1.0 chocobo quest and already had a chocobo whistle, which I recovered from the Calamity NPC.
I recently completed the V2.0 main storyline quest up to the point where you select a Grand Company, and chose Maelstrom for its red gear/chocobo barding.
I was surprised and disappointed to discover than although my seals were correctly transferred to the Maelstrom, my chocobo came with the yellow Twin Adders barding instead of the expected red of the Maelstrom.
I am hoping this was a bug and not something working as intended. I hope there is some way to give me the correct barding for my v2.0 Grand Company.

Additional info: another NEW issue regarding my chocobo barding, missing barding
Tonight, at around 10:20 pm EST Sargatanas on Deminia Brellenwind, Hyur F, 50 Gladiator, using Xfinity Cable (High Speed)
I decided to upgrade to the digital collector's edition version of the game, which comes with a Behemoth Barding. I used the Behemoth Barding item and saw that my existing Grand Company barding (which was still the incorrect Twin Adder barding) vanished from my barding gear sets entirely. My barding gear set lists 1/50. I now only have the Behemoth barding and no Grand Company barding at all. I am extremely unhappy.
I would like my missing Grand Company barding replaced (and with the correct Maelstrom set).

Were you in Twin Adders in 1.0?
since that is where your "chocobo license" came from, that would be where his barding came from =o -

This is intended when you pick a different grand company than you belgoned to before- Your chocobo retains its previous appearance until you obtain new barding from the company you joined. YOu can't switch back to the old barding without switching back to the old company.Quote:

Although Version 1.0 characters will not be enlisted in Grand Companies initially, those who possess a chocobo whistle will be able to summon personal chocobos.
In FFXIV: ARR, chocobo whistles are no longer key items. If there was no space in your inventory for the chocobo whistle, it can be retrieved by speaking with one of the Calamity Salvager NPCs.
Personal chocobos will be equipped with the barding worn during the final save of Version 1.0
Players can change the name of their personal chocobos by speaking with the Wandering Minstrel NPC standing near the Grand Company headquarters in each of the three cities.
Grand Company barding will only be available after enlisting in a Grand Company
