Please fix pets depopping when you move too far from them

Hi,
Currently if you [Place] your pet somewhere and run too far from it, it will depop and you will have to Summon it again. Similarly, when travelling on chocobo and some enemy attacks you, your pet will attack back by default and then stay with the enemy and depop when you travel too far from that place.

I think you should change fairy/eggi behaviour, so that if you become separated too much from your pet, it should either start running back to you to catch up and resume following, or if that is too difficult to program (pathing AI can be a nightmare, I know), just make the pet teleport to your position and resume following.

Avatars and fairies are magical beings after all, surely they can teleport short distances to their master when they become too lonely...

They do teleport already...

I can see something where Place auto-Heels when you get too far away, but its not hard to remember to Heel after placing for a fight. Even when you forget, its pretty easy to re-summon.

I don't know, this was a problem for me for a few dungeon runs, but after that it wasn't a problem at all. :/

Yes, you can press heel... but it wouldn't kill them to have the pet auto-teleport when you get X distance away.


In fact, why not make a teleport command button? Pressing teleport will automatically teleport your pet to you. They could balance this with a 30 second CD or something. I'm sure this will also be useful in getting your pet out of AOEs.

It's more frustrating when you are on chocobo actually - you can't control pet at all, unless you dismount. And it keeps attacking mobs as soon as I leave the city and depopping. Especially since Steady and Obey aren't saved between re-summons and you have to re-aply them all the time. It's no secret that pet commands are bugged anyway - it's been said enough about it already on SCH forums.
Also, sometimes my pet gets stuck behind that magical door that seals boss room after 15s of you engaging the fight and I have to re-summon because pet just stands there outside, useless.

I don't know, I come from years of FXI and had no such problems there. Why did anyone think implementing pet depop here is any good idea is beyond me.
