When in Sastasha I have had a couple of instances where I cannot target party members. They accepted AoE heal spells but I was unable to target directly or even see them on screen. When one of them died and was raised I saw that PC and could again target normally. This happened once before last patch and again after patch.
I play on PS3.
I also play on ps3 and I've had this same bug for weeks now. I wish I could tell u it's a temporary issue but I've had it occur to me in almost every dungeon in game. I've reported it in forums but my complaint got sent to the duplicate folder which is probably what will happen here. I have yet to hear of a fix or solution. Logging out or /return will help, but it's still a pain. I've heard it's an issue with frame rate but idk. I hope they find a fix soon!! I
I have this every now and then on PC. Just to make sure, have you tried to adjust your camera view? Sometimes, you can clip on stuff hanging from the ceiling and it will not allow you to target things manually. This is assuming you are using 'mouse mode'.
If it is sent to the duplicate folder, it means the bug has been accepted for review. Shouldn't be a fps issue, but at this point, it wouldn't surprise me.
I'm a PS3 user as well, and I have the same issue in about every dungeon. I don't know if it's a framerate issue or not. I have no way of telling what my framerate is on ps3. My chocobo will also get stuck and I can't target it if I'm far from it, though it will still be attacking (see the little arching line that goes to the enemy). This is a big issue though when I can't target players cause they're too far from me (even though they technically are right in front of me engaged with the enemy).
I'm on ps3 and this hasn't happened to me but I have seen it happen to other party members. They would log out and log back in and this would fix it.
I have this same issue happening to me in dungeons on the PS3. I thought it was because I was equipping new gear but it happened to me in Halatali today which is 10+ levels below me now. I get a lap spike the character disappears and I can't select them. It's getting very annoying my friends are leaving me behind because I am constantly having to log out. This could be a disaster at end game!
Same exact issue i'm having and i play on ps3 as well. It seems this game should not have been released on ps3 as it is clearly not ready. Try doing fates with a busy area.... No enemies will even pop on screen till they're dead. You'll just see peoples chocobos their minions and a few people. Fates seem to be the main way to exp, and i can't even do any on weekends because so many people do them that i'm just standing around @ the fates like a fool with no enemies to target. Not sure why Summoners pets spawn in before actual players or enemies.... And party members standing right next to you just disappearing? Never heard of this kind of stuff in any other game. Heck, FFXI ran better on the ps2. :p
Yeah, the same happend to me today in Castrum Meridanum - Praetorium. Couldn't select two players and they weren't rendered on screen.

You can clearly see someone is targeted by 2 adds and but not visible.
The issue was resolved once we entered a new area.
