PS4 free upgrade help

Ok, so I know that when the PS4 version is released we'll be able to participate in it no problems. And from what little info I've found, it seems we won't be restricted from having bought a Physical copy. What I want to know is, will we be given codes for having registered the game or what? Or will we simply use the download history list on our PSN? (I was a part of the P4/EA crew, and I'm on speculating that it gets bound to our PSN account as a DL link if we want to download it. I got the CE and didn't have to download anything, and didn't notice a change to my DL list. So again, just speculation)
