End Game, Netcode & EU servers : What's going to happen
It does not affect everybody but End Game is currently broken due to lag and netcode.
Why is this happening ? - Position check are done only 3 times per seconds. That means you actual ping can be increased up to 333ms. This is due to a bad netcode
- AoE escape window get smaller, leaving no room for delay
- EU players must go through international connection which has it own share of problems. During heavy traffic some routing are too loaded making the game even more unresponsive (you will see people teleporting around you, you can no longer escape aoe in time)
What could be done to fix it ?- Rewrite netcode or make more position check per seconds
- Nerf encounter so that it allows for more error margin
- Add EU based server to avoid international connection
What is likely to happen
The 1. option is unlikely. It would create more strain on the servers and rewrite of netcode at this point is too costly.
The 3. would be ideal as it does not involve nerfing end game content. But it will not happen because SE do not want to invest in an other datacenter.
So that leaves option 2. The easy fix. Cost nothing to make.
It actually doesn't fix any of the problems but it does the job for the time being.
So yeah expect end game content to be nerfed really soon because SE won't fix anything about Lag and they won't put EU server (unless maybe we do a massive petition)
ps : I did not include Australia because my knowledge of the situation for them is not good enough.
