Upset at 999,999gil repair NPC Price - is this intended?!

Average day, run to town, repair gear at npc automatically as usual... only one problem...

Repairing Howling Talons (lvl 25 Pug weapon) costs 999,999gil! Seriously this is outrageous and I am sure is an over sight right?

Losing 1 million gil to a pair of lvl 25 talons has left me in a very sour mood... Could have checked first yes, but honestly would not have expected that.

Others be warned!

EDIT: The account this happened to is now going to post in the report bugs section - as instructed by a GM. I guess theres not too much need for this thread now o.O... other then to warn others.

Now correct me if im wrong.. but I have a feeling they do this to encourage players to get their repairs from the crafting classes. I assume it's one of the things they've done to make the crafting class seem needed.

If it was lvl 99 gear maybe. But for lvl 25 gear?

LOL that sounds like a bug/typo to me. Should post this in the bugs forum and see if anyone can get someone to fix it for you.

^^ Actually. Reported to GM and they asked it be posted as a bug. So hopefully the account that spend the gil might get it back! At least it is something ^^

That's kind of silly you would think they would use a simple modifer value something like item level x percentage of damage.

To think they have to manually alter these values for each item, no wonder they get no work done over at SE lol.

As far as I know, it's never taken into account how damaged it is. You could ask the NPC to repair it at 74%, or at 0% for the same price. Which kinda makes sense, it takes the same mats either way.

I havnt used the repair npc for a long long time, however when I did this was taken into account.

you paid 999 999 gil for a repair rather than repair it yourself?
with a minimum of rank 15 goldsmith and a siltstone whetstone which last i checked sold for about 8 k at least on my server you could have done it youeself and avoided all this messing around.
and yes 999 999 gil is weird but wow cant believe you paid that much for such an easy repair and when it even says what the repair mat is on the item screen.
