Tank Limit Break

The exact wording says that it increases the party's "defense" but I'm wondering if that's exactly accurate. Does our Limit Break only protect the party against physical damage? When I ran Garuda my party told me to pop Limit when she uses her big explodey-death move, but I don't know if it did anything to mitigate that.

TBH, if our Limit only boosts defense (in the same way Foresight does) then I am severely underwhelmed. What is the duration? A couple seconds? I've never seen a time where the entire party takes a huge chunk of physical damage that would require our Limit to survive. Maybe Titan, but even that might be largely magic damage, I don't know.

I don't know about garuda HM, but I know for the story when she done her big aoe I limit breaked that because the healer was having problems getting folks topped off after and everyone seemed to take a lot less damage.

I'm not sure exactly what it mitigates and what it doesn't though... I'd like to hear some clarification from someone more experienced than I though!

I don't know? I just know it seemed like people were dying right after her aoe, so the next attempt I just used my limit and completed it no problem afterward.

I cant say for sure... but I always feel like Tank limit break is 2x Stoneskin .. and not much else. The only time I've used it and been productive was story mode Garuda, and Titan for their major attack

levle 3 tank limit break is party wide immunity.

The healer LB is an aoe heal that doesnt have a very wide radius. in all honesty, i dont typically use it unless im out of mp and cant do my medicas, OR in full parties where LB3 = full raise for everyone in the range.

Normally the healer would have everyone topped off and LB right after the attack, the tank is supposed to LB if the attack is about to drop and the healer has not been able to top everyone off yet. You guys actually did the reverse, but since you killed the boss, I guess it was all for good :)

As for tanking LB, only the lvl 3 lb is worth it IMHO, or else, lvl 1 and lvl 2 healer LB is stronger IMHO, unless the above situation is true.

healer LB 1 or 2 are crap... the casting time + after effect animation are long enough that u whould have enought time to pump out more healing by using your own normal skill... -_-' the only reason to use it is if the healer is REALLY low on mana ... but at that point... a dps LB will probably make the fight shorter ^^'

just like tank healer only use their LB if it's rank 3... with the additional problem that the after animation is so long that we actualy risk that ressed dps/tank die again while we are on our knee watching at the sky without the ablity to heal them ^^' also due to ress being automaticaly accepted (u don't get the right to choose if or when to get resurrected...) u also have to time it really well in order to avoid people ressing inside some aoe that will insta shot them -_-' don't know haw many time I got people spammin in group chat to use my LB right before ifrit plumes or garuda's shift to center -_-'

actually LB seem to be a mechanic mostly restricted to dps... well... not that I feel hurt about that... but probaly SE could do a few thing to make healer and tank LB a bit more usefull that what they are now...
