Question for the Crafters

What are some common amounts of items you look for? As I remember seeing on the forum somewhere that not all ways looking for stacks of 99. So would be useful to have a better idea of what quantities would be good to list outside of 99, as hard to know without leveling all the crafts.

Also would you be willing to pay a little more per item to get smaller stack sizes? If so, how much extra would you likely be willing to pay? As list smaller stack sizes, it would cost those of us that do gather market board slots, and occupy retainer space longer since it is often not worth taking the time to gather an item in small amounts.

It really depends on how much I will be using, and that will depend on my class.

Cloths for example, tailors will want 99 stacks, but other crafting classes only need it every now and then so stacks of 3~5 is best (and you definitely want to charge a premium for smaller stacks).

As to how much premium, well, the more useless the item, the higher the premium you can charge.

Useful items sell quick, so I can easily buy a stack of 99 at cheaper price and break them down into smaller stacks and resale at a premium myself. Useless items that I only ever need 1 or 2 for, then I will pay twice the unit price just to avoid getting stuck with stock I can't sell.

It's safe to go 99 if it's a basic material like grass, ores, logs, but even for these, you will always want to put up a few small stacks at a premium, because there will always be crafters just short of a few pieces to get their next level, as well as crafters from other classes that need a few of something they can't make, and they will buy at a premium.

Think it also depends on the total price of the whole stack, since the game isnt that old its not like a lot of crafters don't have half a million or something to spent.
So if a stack of 99 would go for over 50k i would just make 2 stacks of 50 for 25k or something, probably easier to sell.

Thanks for the replies, will try 1, 5, 10, and 20s of some of the items that don't move very quick. As more than likely they are not used in large quantities, so 99's don't go much of anywhere. Not like iron ore for example, any armorer and likely blacksmith can't get enough of it. Have easily used about 1000 of it just leveling armorer to 30 so far and that is with using leves to cut down material usage for leveling.

It will help you to know what items are used in which quantities. If you know it takes 3 logs to synth 1 lumber, you know 3 is the min, and multiples of 3 raising up will help. Some Ingots take 4 pieces of ore to make 1 ingot, which means sets of 4 will help more. Leathers tend to be qty's of 1's. There are some patterns but, as a whole everything is so different in total pieces needed per synth, it will take a bit of looking or having the crafting logs open in order to get the optimal sales quantity. I usually always buy in proper sets as a crafter just so I don't have to store or resale extras. My inventory space is more valuable to me hence I will pay more for the proper amount.
