SQUARE ENIX's "Registering the Game"

Can someone please point out to SE that in their little "Guide for new players" they completely and totally skipped the most confusing part of the entire process?

That process being, linking your SQUARE ENIX account and Sony Entertainment Network accounts together.

After the initial "early access" (if it can be called that with all the 1017s) I've found myself completely locked out of the PS3 version of the game (among other problems) and faced with a message asking me to do just this... but I could have sworn I already went through this process.

Just in case, can we PLEASE get an official answer on just HOW to do it? Because I'm pretty sure this mythical "link button" on the Square Enix account page that I keep hearing about, just does not exist.
