Game crashing/pc auto shuts down/restarts after character selection

Is anyone having a problem with their game crashing or PC randomly shutting down after you choose your character? This only recently started happening when I started playing FFXIV, every other game which takes more PC power/GPU power works perfectly fine.

I am currently running with a core i7 970 hexcore, 12gb of ddr3 1600 dominator memory, evga gtx 580 in sli powered by a 1000w psu. I don't know what the problem is. I disabled sli and the game works fine, so im assuming its the sli thats causing the problem, but i have read that other people with running sli works just fine, any solutions? and btw all drivers are up to date.
