Looking for a nice social group :)
Hey all,
I'm getting in to my late 30's now as my main class/job, so I have a feeling I'm ready to get a little more social in the game instead of pugging around all over the place.
I've seen many recruitment shouts, I've also found the Hyperion LS/FC directory thread, and have even looked in the recruitment SubReddit. However, I keep running in to the same dilemma, all these FC's sound the same. Sure some may use the word casual, or social, or hardcore, or some mix, but I'm having a really hard time getting the vibe down about anyone. I've even tried to just check out sites/threads of those that had cool sounding names, but once again I don't really know what sets them apart.
So, any advice?
I suppose it may be prudent to reveal a little bit about myself though, or all reading this will succumb to the same dilemma I have.
I'm in my late 20's, live on the east coast of US, and have played many mmo's in the past ranging from Nexon's Dark Ages, to Lineage 2, EVE, EQ2, WoW, and maybe dabbling in a few others out of curiosity. Some days I may log tons of hours, on the other hand I may then disappear for a while, real life always trumps digital and I like those that appreciate that. Having said that, I'm definitely interested in reaching end-game and exploring all of the world and its content and mechanics.
I was part of a really nice guild back in my WoW days, it was full of older family folks and things were pretty easygoing even as we did end-game content. I sometimes think back about those guys and I miss them and the good times we had, and this is the kind of environment I'd like to find here on Hyperion if possible.
Just to spice things up I'll describe a bit more of my real life self...
I'm a healthy lifestyle nut. I run, bike, or swim fairly regularly. Opposite of that I'm also a programmer, an IT guy, and an amateur enthusiast of several creative outlets that include playing music, building stuff, and digital drawing or painting. Oh also, I play a lot of video games, and having stayed away from MMO's for almost five years purely out of disappointment I got sucked in to ARR and am enjoying it greatly so far.
