Crafting materials

I don't know who was in charge of the weaver department but i strongly dislike you with every fiber of my being. Was it really smart to make one of the main ingredients of a class (Diremite web) well Diremite web? You have 2 options...to farm them in a small area with 10 or so people vying for the same thing or do thousand maws. (which is very unreliable on giving you drops)

The ratio of Weavers to the potential sources of a vital class ingredient (needed in vast abundance) is terrible. I ask you to litter the area with the bugs so there is plenty to go around or raise the drop rate to 100% for normal webs so we don't spend all day competing for 5 measly webs. Main ingredients for a class should be limited to harvestables like Flax and cotton bolls because they easily cater to a large community of people.

Edit: Also i want Diremite web removed from the sellable item list. I am sick to death of people taking up space farming and selling them for 200gil each on market. If we are to be limited by so little bugs at least make it so people who genuinely need them will farm them. Ohh that should spark controversy.

Another edit: Kurakul fleece??? Ohh come on!!! Slamming my head against wall!!!! The most sparsely populated fate area on the planet and guess where the next main ingredient spawns. Good lord *facepalm*

Fucking for real. I'm looking at five levels before I can even see a new part of the weaver recipe book that doesn't have velveteen in it. And I'm sorry, I'm not paying what the people farming these diremites for profit want for the webs on the markets. Weavers have to have this stuff and they're taking advantage of us because it's extremely difficult for us to advance without them. Just about every main ingredient a Weaver needs can be harvested by a Botanist. I don't see why diremite webs can't be harvested the same way. Please, increase the drop rates and the mob sizes or make it so a Botanist can harvest the webs. Or, and here's a really smart idea, make it so the webs are sold by NPCs.

I'm just gonna come in here and spoil the fun, because I couldn't disagree more with what you're asking, and I'd actually prefer it if all the crafting classes had these issues.

I absolutely hate how the economy is ruined by easily available materials. Crafters may as well not bother, because of the few crafts that people actually require, NPCs demolish any potential profit a crafter could get from their time and effort.

The base value of a craft is directly affected by how little the resources are worth. NPCs sell pretty much everything you need for NOTHING (including crafts. See: Potions). Result: everything you craft is worth nothing.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather be challenged by levelling a craft, and have the result of it be worth something, rather than everyone and their mother having all their craft classes maxed out, and the economy being non-existant. Why even play an MMO without that kind of player interaction and requirement?

It is used in virtually every piece of clothing up to a certain level. It requires 2 webs for one thread and 1 is always needed for undyed velveteen. I'd rather crafting was a serious business, not taken lightly, because I've played games with good economies, where it's actually DIFFICULT to level a crafting skill due to needing massive amounts of difficult-to-acquire resources, and it results in a much better economy for those who want to put in the effort, and a generally better player-driven environment.

It makes being a high level crafter worth something. People need "that guy who maxed out x craft first", because he's the only one who really desired to put in that time and effort to achieve the end result, and now he's NPC-tier, in that everyone knows his name and his role in the game, and seeks him out for that.

I can't finish my rant because of character and post limit.

What really blows my mind about this is that since the patch.. I am getting web to sinew ratio as 2 sinew per 1 web. So an already PITA resource has been made even HARDER to get. Same for hides btw. Meat and antlers/horns galore and skins about half that. I don't mind roadblocks in crafting. What I do mind is a roadblock at a relatively low level combine. This is poorly thought out IMO, and does not seem reasonable as other crafting classes in the same level range, besides the leatherworker, do not have the same issue. What is the point in penalizing the weavers and leatherworkers???

OK so im about to make anyone who comes back to read this post a VERY happy person. You can pick up two repeatable tradecraft levequests in Quarry Mill that when turned in will give you 10 diremite web each quest. The items to turn in for them are easy to make cotton peices, one of the two quests requires three peices and the other requires one piece. Also, if you turn in HQ peices then you get an additinal 200% XP tacked on to it totaling for a tastey total of 16k-19k xp each. Just create a bag full of each of the items, go turn em all in at once and BAM 200+ diremite web. Easy cake. The two quests are in the lvl 20 category of the levequest guy. *NOTICE* these two quests do occasionally give shards instead of diremite web as the reward, just go adeventure for a couple mins come abck and it should refresh, or if your impatient and/or want the shards too, then grab it, do a turn in and the new refreshed quest should have the diremite web instead!
