A Realm Reborn: Roleplaying Community Wishes

So here's something for all us RP'ers to post our wishes and concerns to better our Role Playing experience in FFXIV: A Realm Reborn.

I for one would like to see an actual sleeping emote. Elezen males get this awkward sleeping position that looks like they're reading a magazine under dim light while doing their logout sleep animation in the inns.

Another thing I'd like to see is table top emotes. When our character is sitting at a table, I'd like to see them actually prop their arms up on it and utilize that space in front of them for more direct emotional exchange. Like for example the /furious emote while sitting at a table could have the character slam their hands down on the table and stand up with an aggressive growl before sitting back down after a few seconds of standing. Also when doing some emotes while sitting in chairs or on stools, our arms just fall off to the side and it looks kind of awkward sitting down when the emote looks better standing up.

Another that I've seen people want is a longer or permanent /kneel emote until we move our character.


Another thing I could see in a good perspective is allowing us to choose which of our mounts we would like to call to battle as a companion. While only being able to choose one at a time and talking to a chocokeep to change which mount you summon to aid you as a companion. It'd be neat if each mount had their own specific point allocation section as well. It could also bring up the option that say your Legacy Chocobo you want to be a DPS, Your Gobbue you bring up as a Tank, and your Floating Eye could be a healer mount.
This could also be expanded to even additional barding for mounts that are not Chocobos. I for one would LOVE to call my Couerl to battle with some fierce looking armor on him. After all.. his description does say he's a battle-ready Couerl.

Just some of my thoughts. What does everyone else thing?

Sounds like good ideas! I'd additionally dig other permanent, looping or 'stance' emotes. Arms crossed over chest 'til you move, /looking 'til you move, maybe a /lean for vertical surfaces, a /talk that gives talking animations with a handwave or few, good for long RP speeches or getting people's attention when Raid planning, too.

I love the suggestions here. I was thinking when I first tried to do a /sleep or /laydown I was sad that it wasn't there. I can't think of any to add to the list at the moment but here's the support anyway.

I would definitely dig a /lean for walls!

Have always liked some stuff where you pull out an object, like a /drink or something. Where you pull out a cup and occasionally take a sip until you move. CoH had some good ones.

I really want Miqo'te ears to be animated for the facial expressions. It's really cool how in most of the regular emotes the ears are used to enhance the expression. But for the pure facial expressions, the ears remain stationary. It would add a lot to immersion if they folded their ears back when you did /scared /sad /annoyed etc.
It would also be cool if the ears maybe twitched a little from time to time to make them seem more real.

Another one could be to update some of the Female Miqo'te's animations to reflect equally to those of the males. Such as ear wiggles in some animations like the males have.
