This Bard stacking thing needs to be dealt with

It's getting kind of stupid. A large majority of high end FCs are just running 3x BRD DPS to take advantage of triple song. Even 2x BRD is broken.
By cycling songs, they can keep TP/MP/Requiem up permanently. This gives FCs an extremely large advantage over those of us who are taking on content with well balanced groups.

This really needs to be looked at.

To put this into perspective, I just searched through Bahamut's Coil Turn 4 kills. 7/9 of the kills I found contained a party with 2 BRD.

EDIT: Because this thread has been overtaken by retards screaming 'LOL BRD ISN'T EVEN TOP DPS,' the issue is that two BRD trivializes many encounters by giving their group virtually unlimited MP/TP and buffing SMN/BLM damage to the point that it's like you're running 4.5 DPS if you have two casters.

sounds terrible to me, low DPS if constantly singing, and who's Foe's for, the one remaining DPS who actually uses elemental attacks?

You really dont need TP song permanently. MP song is good in a magic heavy set up but with 3 bards you wont benefit all that much from it, same with the elemental one.
You either have to give up an aoe lb or a single target lb with 3 bards. Its a pretty rubbish set up tbh.

Requiem buffs the BRD's DPS by something like 60%, I think?

We tried it with 2 BRDs by accident and the result was ridiculous. I can't imagine how it is with 3, but it's probably amazing, because most FCs are doing it.

^ PFFFFFFFFT. Whatno. Requiem does NOT buff brd's dps by 60%. Maybe 1.5% on the off chance you have a bard who actually uses Flaming Arrow for anything but adds

This is a stupidly retarded assumption too. A monk, a good one, will out dps an equally geared bard on almost every occasion, even with losing GL3 on invincible phases. A dragoon can deal as much if not more, too, AND will never have a tp problem due to invigorate. Get low? 500 tp, okay.

People who think 3 bard is the pristine set up for end game are deluded.

I guess all those high end progression guilds are completely deluded then.

FC's like those don't pick things based on "gut feelings," they do so based on math. And the math they're using are parsers which show 3 bard groups are the superior composition with the way fights are balanced right now.

Your comments about Monks parsing higher and Dragoons parsing just as high only work in a training dummy situation. I know, I've parsed the numbers with me vs my bard friends against dummies. My Dragoon will output similar DPS to them and I have no doubt that a Monk will out dps both of us.

But in real actual boss fights, the bards in my FC have consistently output more DPS. Melee is punished more by fight mechanics such as aoes, having to reposition, etc. Until this is addressed, 3 bards + flex DPS spot (depending on what limit break you need) will be optimal group.

Even with singing if a Bard's rotation is decent to spot on, their DPS can still be greater then other jobs

Song drops bard dmg by 20%.....

Bards are strong due to high mobility and safety/consistent dps......

Requiem doesn't drop their damage, and boosts Wind Bite.

I don't think it boosts Flaming Arrow, though, if it works/is bugged like Shadow Flare.

Flaming Arrow is superior, even single target, if there is at least 5 out of 10 of the ticks that hit(compared to Heavy/Straight Shot)

At least you're not a blm or smn. Melee can deliver their damage and stay mobile most of the time.

What puts bards over the top is that they get the perks of melee, but ranged.

It completely dwarfs blm and smn because those two are stuck with 2.5+ second casts in high mobility fights.

The problem is bards do everything instantly. Even their DoT's are better than the SMN dot's as they do both more DPS and are instant cast whereas the SMN only gets one instant cast DoT.
