Behemoth armor no where to be found.

I pre-ordered the Digital CE edition of FFXIV ARR and I have received all of my in-game digital items; but one item I'm having trouble with is the "Behemoth Armor." I clicked "use" while it was in my inventory and watched it dissapear, which I expected. BUT after reaching level 30 and unlocking my chocobo as a companion, I've noticed it DOES NOT SHOW UP in my chocobos selectable gear options under armor. The ONLY thing I can choose to equip is my Gridanian saddle.... help?
