Am I the only one being scared shards will shoot up in price eventually?

I am now level 45 weavers and the number of shards I now need for a single triple turn in is getting scary. To make a single Woolen Smock I need 55 shards or so, I need to make 9 for the triple turn-in, so we're getting pretty damn close to 500.

495 shards is a LOT, I mean how long does it take to even gather that many? Assuming you get to use a brand every 10 nodes or so (probably more) that's like 50 shards on 10 nodes. And mining 10 nodes while not THAT long still takes longer than it takes a crafter to go through 50 shards.

At the moment it's not too bad, there are lots of players getting a ton of shards from low level crafting quests and selling those, but eventually this source will dry up, and unless people start making new characters in order to get shards, we'll need to get our shards from gatherers, which will probably start selling them for much more considering how long it takes to get a meaningful amount of the damn things.

Am I the only one seeing a problem here?

No,you can level a botanist or a miner to get shards but it takes forever...I've been trying to say that they should implement the ability to have clusters an crystals turn into shards but only got two likes...since I really don't wanna farm 1k shards with my miner/botanist or buy 100 shards for 20k..

There needs to be more effective ways to gather shards, or equally as effective as gathering them. You need infinite shards for everything and there's only one effective way to get them. All other methods are horrible and slow and not good at all. Shards are the best thing to gather as a 50 miner/botanist for money, kind of funny.

I thought so as well, but rmt bots seem to have started doing shards so the prices tanked.

It's not the best thing to gather for money but it's one of them. Really depends on the supply and demand levels of the items at the time. I've seen Elm Logs selling for 400-500 each o.o

There are gathering bot running everywhere so Shard will never rise up in price.

As of now, I don't even want to spend my time on gathering shard, but I'm forced to. You can be selective when it come to other mats, but not shards.

They need to think of a way to make gathering shard effectively. As it is the most consumable materials in the game, it should be gathered in a bunch, not single piece each hit.

If they ban the people botting miners, then sure, prices will increase. However, they cant even ban people spamming in uldah for 4 days in a row, so I think the bot miners are safe for a good long while. Prices will stay the same or go lower. I've noticed a lot more inventory on the market. People selling 10 stacks of 1000 shards each. Its really crushing the prices and you know its a bot.

Tell us your secret then,I'm a level 50 botanist an I'm not even near 1k shards an hour.
