attribute points reset

I was applying for the addler promotion that cost 5,000 seals which is all I had and once I had the game told me my attribute points had been reset. curious about it I had looked to see if they were. They appeared to be normal, but when I went to go fight my damage was severely reduced I was hitting high 100's to the 200's but now when I crit it is still only 90... I can't progress if I can't get this fixed, so please help.
