Scholar Endgame Build
Hey all,
So I've gotten myself farming some tomes.. I now have enough for one Cowl. Thing is.. I tend to be stingy towards stuff like these and I tried comparing some stats:
If I used Strategos(the entire set), I'd gain Spell Speed over Determination, about 3 lower defense per gear on average, about 2.5 lower mind per gear on average(maybe, not exactly)
I know I read somewhere that the order of importance is WDMG->MND->CRIT->DET for SCH healing, and I think overall would probably WDMG->MND->CRIT->VIT->SPELL SPEED->PIE->DET.
What should be prioritized when building a SCH? I'm kind of leaning towards CRIT, however I noticed not all the gears have it. Would it be worth the trouble doing let's say, a Darklight compared to a ilvl 90 just because it has crit and the other has none?
How far would Strategos get me? I want to skip as many gears as I can and save the tomes for a different class down the road.. And what would you guys build ultimately? As much MND as possible? Or as much CRIT as possible? The main problem about darklight is I kind of feel they're so short lived ;; Probably last me a few days. Well, or weeks.. but since we all farm AK and there's no higher gear req for AK..

Gear wise, the only Darklight piece that's really useful are the pants, so save at least 900 Philo tomes up for your relic weapon (which will make the biggest difference). Accessory wise, the Rose Gold set (and some Militia I believe), including the helmet, are the best pre-AF2 pieces for the slots, especially with Materia melding in mind. For everything besides your pants, the green crafted items are what you'll want pre-AF2.
The defense on these items are lower, so you may want a Darklight set for fights where you'll be getting hit a lot too, but the extra crit you'll get over the Darklight/AK drops will be way more beneficial when healing.
As far as AF2 goes, the accessories, body and pants are optimized real well. The problem is that you need 900 Mytho tomes to +1 your relic, and that is significantly more useful than burning 300 on an accessory or 800 on your body piece.
