After I click start, stuck on black screen with white loading wheel in bottom corner.

Hey guys I'm in need of help,

I bought the PC version at Gamestop and installed it normally on my desktop computer, and patched it. But when I start the client and log in, I'm stuck at a black screen right before the character creation screen with the white loading wheel in the bottom right hand corner.

I installed the game on my laptop, and it works fine, I can make it to the character selection screen.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled three times, tried different ISP's, and still my desktop won't make it past me clicking start. I have no antivirus software, and have tried disabling firewalls. I should note I just did a clean install of windows 7 pro 64bit a few days ago.

Any ideas?
