Playing on pc with controller tip: extra skills

So I've always played mmos on a gamepad even before now and i see alot of others doing the same but don't have enough places for skills so i thought i may help with that. I realized that holding down both triggers made your buttons do nothing so i found a great use for this. If you are gaming on a PC with the controller you can get a program called xpadder. Use this to set one trigger as shift the other as control and assign all your buttons some value not used in the game or make space by unbinding keys not necessary. Then create a hotbar with the appropriate key bindings. I added 12 new slots this way especially since when you hold both triggers it no longer registers anything but the joy sticks so there is no in game interference.

I am not sure what problem you are trying to solve. With the controller cross bar, we have 8 skills on L and 8 skills on R for a total of 16 skills per set. We have 8 separate sets, for a total of 128 skills (per class, per job) accessible with a button combo (or just by cycling through). How does your solution improve on this?

Well I saw many complaints about people having to switch the bars mid fight to use one or two skills that they didn't have room for in their primary bars. Some just can't get it down so I offered this as an alternative to needing to switch

Yeah and I like your suggestion. honestly there is alot more they can do with the controller that's not implemented. This was just a quick fix since the" controller customization" in game is very limiting since you have to choose something from their options for each button instead of key presses or even nothing at all.

This is more of a solution, although the additional clutter of having three sets shown on the screen, is not worth the trade off on a 720p (or similar) resolution.

I also see this as a potential issue but I'm sure SE team can find a resolution for it, such as any combination of reducing the crossbar size, staggering the crosses up and down and/or making the LR crosses invisible until both L and r are held in such a manner as currently holding L or R balloons the size of the appropriate crosses.

I was more of a fan on how the controller was set up in 1.0. It's not like tour still not smashing the sh*t out of the buttons to use your abilitys. The new layout bothered me for the first 30 min. But the mouse and keyboard layout still looks allot cleaner.

Not True. You have 48 skills per-class/ pre-job. Bars 4-8 are shared with all classes/jobs. The same goes with the keyboard layout. Although KB hotbars and Hot Crossbar are separate.

So Crossbar has 128 slots available, 48 of which are specific to job/class. KB/hotbars have 120 slots available, 36 of which are specific to job/class

I play with both game pad and Keyboard at the same time. So I can have access to 84 slots per class/job and 248 overall at any given time if that's how I want to set up.
