FFXI and XIV should be re-released as an offline game in the future

What an awesome storyline. It will be a huge waste after the server have been shutdowned and no one is gonna be able to play/replay it anymore.

I hope both games will be re-released as an offline game in the future, not in near future but maybe after the end of its lifespan.

With how XI went I should expect XIV to have a long lifespan plus I love being able to play this with my bf and if it went offline mode we wouldnt be able to quest together x.x

While highly unlikely SE may release the server code and allow private servers after they stop supporting the game, it is highly improbable that SE will release an "offline" mode. Both games were based around being online 100% of playtime and would require a massive overhaul to play offline without hosting a server to connect to somewhere. But I do agree the storylines are amazing!

It will be called Final Fantasy Online 1.5 Final Mix and feature all the cutscenes of the games put together.

It's impractical, but I'd love to see something like this. FFXI had that Story Ultimania a few years back but it was pretty sparse even at the time. The plots in both games deserve better than to be lost forever once the servers go down.

An offline version should have a pause button (so you can set commands), a save button (so you can reload) and allow you to control (and level) as many characters as you need to in a party/alliance.

Doubt this'll happen for at least twenty years, but I'll look forward to it when it does...

I personally think that allowing people to rent or buy private servers might be more likely. I know I really want to go through FFXI's content, but not only could it be really time consuming, I just can't justify spending another 13.95 when I'm playing FFIXV right now.

I do support the idea though.
