after the change made in last maintenance tanks cant hold hate any more. I understand the need to make changes to stop speed runs but now normal runs are broken. To start tank cant hold any hate. Just two cast from healer is enuf to pull all hate from a tank that used all enmity ability. This can be worked around on the trash mobs but on the first boss it a wipe 9 out of 10 tries. it not much better for dps as well seeing as we have to cut what we do in half to keep from pulling.
Not sure what you mean here, I just tanked a full AK run after servers came up with clearing all trash as a paladin with mediocre gear and found hate absolutely no different from prepatch. My static team always cleared all trash anyway as we didn't use the death exploit, so we're pretty used to how it behaves. We run with Paladin tank, Monk, White Mage and usually a dragoon but had a Black Mage that run. We didnt' sleep anything and I aoe tanked all mobs without any threat issues at all.
Did you used to full clear prepatch? Maybe you're just not used to the damage spikes on some packs or your healer was pre-healing too much? I definitely didn't notice any difference.
I just did my first run before maintenance and our warrior tank did perfectly fine keeping hate throughout the run.
just a note if your white mage use your treat reduction ability
If the white mage just cast stoneskin before the battle begins and cast stoneskin about 2 seconds after the battle begins, tank should have no problem keeping hate. Sounds to me either tank don't know how to build up hate or white mage just overheals within the first 3 seconds of the battle. I know as a white mage i had that a lot in the first instance i went in. Start of with regen and a cure and you should have no trouble getting hate from the tank.
forgot to add iv run with this group many times both in killing everything and speed runs. Could just be a bug that ramdomly shows or only a few will get.
