How hard is it to just implement SPAM KICK/TEMP BAN?

The gold seller spam situation is outrageous, all SE did was banning 500 something accounts which didn't help our in-game experience at all. My blacklist is almost full and I'm done trying to add another name whenever a new spammer pops up. I added a new tab with shout disabled, but my log is still filled with /yell /say /tell spam messages.

I simply do not understand why they can't just add a script to kick and/or temporary ban the spammer. I wonder if ANY of us would object this proposal, it doesn't even have to be a permanent measure, just enforce until SE come up with a permanent solution.

Because it's not "simple" Trion thought the spam = auto mute was a simple task and 1 bad line of code took the servers down for 8 hours. I hate the spamming just like everyone else but I'm also a realist and understand that while it pisses me off and taking longer than I like, they've clearly stated they're working on a few ways to combat it and I also understand that shit takes time to put in place otherwise, you break servers and players will cry like small children over it and "rage quit" or "rage post" about it.

The issue here is priority... I personally believe this is serious enough to be placed on a very high priority - an issue needs to be fixed immediately with a hotfix

I agree that this issue needs to be taken a bit more seriously and an immediate solution is necessary. However, I wonder if they're just buying their time at SE, since every account is still running on free trail time, I'm sure the spam will dwindle once it comes time to pay.

I must say though, in all of my MMO experience, I have never seen such a spam fest as bad as these are, to the point where you can't even keep up with FC chat or party chat. I would welcome any emergency maintenance that would allow us to black list via clicking on their names in the chat box. I mean, it's 2013!! Why isn't this already implemented in the game?

Unfortunately I have been forced to un-check /shout and /yell from my general chat. Something needs to be done to stop RMT. I reported every gil seller I heard shout and never got a response from support.

Those gil sellers are using up other players spots by sitting there spamming. Put a cool down on /shout and /yell.

Priority? just black list them.

As for player slots, haven't seen 1017 in a week, so we should be good. Cooldown on /shout/yell would be awful.

Despite the fact that I find crafting interesting, I would go so far as to say that player transferable gil is something that could absolutely be removed from this or any game. It was an interesting feature in MMOs, but the inability of the companies to protect the integrity of their own intellectual property against people who dilute their servicemarks by offering the same service (in this case, gil) from a different source, has resulted in irritating interruptions to my game play experience in every game where player transferable currency has existed.

In this game, I have not only disabled /shout in my main chat window, but have also turned off /tells. If you aren't in my linkshell, party, or near me, we don't talk. I would much rather not seem rude to someone who attempts to send me a tell.

I agree that this situation should be given priority; it is the source of the first serious consideration I have given to leaving the game.
