Ampador Keep Nonsense.
I'm a whm with Ifrits cane and the DL sash, but I understand my accessories need some work. Needed to clear AK for about 4 days now.
First time in queue, Tank says "Speed run right?" I said "Sure, but this is my first time". Tank drops without saying a word.
I went to Mor Dhona, saw a person shout "AK speed run LF WHM" I /tell him "I'm a whm, but I havent done it before, can I come?" no response, but the shout changed to "AK Speed run LF experienced WHM"
Finally after going into queue for another 90 min or so, I got another pug, this time I told the Tank "Its my first time please let me try" And Anisa Azinna, awesome pld from who knows where, actually said "Ok! Here is what we do" and showed me the dungeon. Died twice on demon wall, and died 3 times on the boss, but I got the hang of it and cleared it once I learned the fights.
This game can be very discouraging and elitist at times, but there are still some nice people out there willing to let others learn the ropes ^^

Those type of tanks are hard to come by these days. I've ran into a few thankfully. I just want to say thank you to all those tanks that don't bail out on groups for that reason.
-
When I level cap my tank I will specifically be advertising for new healers only for this reason for a while..It'll be frustrating but some of this elitist stuff is ridiculous.
I know I'm a good healer, but I also had trouble finding a group on my WHM

Blame the developers not the people who dont want to waste time, if the developers were smart enough to require you to clear trash first then this wouldnt be a issue

Yea I was doing story dungeons the last 2.. and people wanted everyone to skip cutscenes when some people wanted to watch, me included. Also during one of the bosses the other healer was still watching a cut scene and the tank pulled the boss, lucky it wasnt one of the harder ones.
Really do wish people would stop being selfish and realize they arent the only ones that matter.

I just don't understand the mindset of some people! I love to tank, and I have done perfectly fine thus far and I am sure I will continue to do just fine. I don't mind wiping, I mean it is just a video game and I like to keep it fun. Helping new people through new dungeons is actually fun if nobody is a complete douche bag. It saddens me how shitty this community is right now for the most part, and I sure hope it changes :/. Having fun and wiping because new people are learning the fights doesn't mean you suck at the game, just means you know how to have fun and keep it friendly.

Yep it sucks that most party only wanted (geared players) for the run. How the hell do we get geared if we cant even run :/
Its like looking for work wherein the lowest positions still needs experience xD

I'm in the slow side of whm (panics when things go bad) so I'm just focusing on being a blm. I was mainly whm in 1.xx and was pretty ok at it. But man whm on 2.0 is hard. I hate how easily tanks die, I hate how easy dd's die, I hate how medica is a circle aoe on me (aka i have to run to the ppl i'm curing). I'm awfull at managing mp.
However I only whm with my fc. . . If you find the right fc it's more fun to play with them even though it's a pain in the ass job. I always tell them I'll main blm and they're always telling me to go as whm! (those punks!!!) However I'd gladly go whm to help them out.
I'm not saying that I'll only help out my fc. . . . . I'll gladly help anybody being nice to me. . .

I generally use/d df to get practice. For the most part I think when people use df that there is some expectation that you're going to be partnered up with anyone. Even people's first time. It annoys me when I run castrum and there are like 3 people who want to speed run, but the others are like "What do I do?" or want to watch their cutscenes like said speed runners did their first time which is now a hindrance because they want to farm so everyone else has to skip them now. They don't explain anything and just go and then chaos ensues and people die and it ends up slowing things down. I don't mind speed running one bit, but at least do some explaining or something.

Most people tend to be ignorant and forget the fact that they had first time runs that required them to learn as well. Just because you know an instance doesn't automatically mean everyone else does. Instead of being a jerk about it just simply give some calm explanations which encourages people to learn and have a good time. Raging just makes it bad for the whole group. Be supportive! I love being a tank and enjoy being able to explain things to the newcomers. It's a good feeling. :D
