The Problem:
Similar to the summoner relic quest description bug that is prevalent in the forum's topic, I also encountered something similar to this problem with the warrior's equivalent quest. Here is the problem in two parts with my attempts to fix it (no successes) and the resulting conclusion.
1) The quest's specific objective line tells me to get the black mage's sanguine's scepter with 2 savage might materia III; however, the quest's description tells me to get the correct barbarian's bardiche with 2 battledance materia III.
a1) I bought both the barbarian's bardiche and the sanguine's scepter and have someone melded the accurate materias to each weapon.
c1) Quest giver for relic reborn continues to not recognize either weapon, neither does quest log acknowledges either weapon.
2) While I had someone melding the battledance 3 materia to my barbarian's bardiche, the item does not show the resulting materia on the weapon; this is especially puzzling coming from the fact that when I sent the meld request, it was stated as a 100% success rate along with a "meld complete" line from the text log. Furthermore, a fellow guildmate had the exact same process with the exact same person melding and his weapon was melded successfully... Lastly, the two battledance materia III materia and the corresponding carbonized material are gone.
a2) I did the same process again (rebought another babarian's bardiche and battledance materia III) and had a different person meld it...
c2) The exact same problem repeated. Log says meld was a success, but weapon does not show materia melded and the corresponding ingredients involved in the meld are gone.
Summary) The problem seems to be more than the usual summoner's bug of just simply the texting... in this situation, the actual item associated with the quest seems to be faulty as well.
The Question:
Is this an isolated case, or am I just stupid about some game mechanics? If anyone else have a similar problem, please feel free to report it here.
