Just want some clarification on how this actually works. I got one of these little gadgets in my CE and from the info I got it just seems to generate a random one time number that I can use to log in with for extra security. Is the actual token a one time use though or can I use it every time I log in for a different password and will my account just magically know that this is my token? That last part is what I'm confused over.

The actual ID number is tied to your account, which you enter into the one time password box every time you log in. The token/app will simply access the same information and show you ID associated with your account. It changes every minute or so for security. This way, even if someone knows your username and password, they'd have to have your token/phone to actually be able to log into anything.
Ok, so every time I enter the generated password it says that it's invalid. I'm very confused.

You need to activate the One Time passwords in your SE account management page and - IMPORTANT! - after that keep safe both your token serial number as well as the special code you'll receive after registration to be able to detach the token from your account in case it will get lost or broken.
