Gah...so many acronyms o.O

So I've been reading a few posts, and I'm beginning to hit walls when it comes to some of the acronyms. To a certain extent I may as well try and read the non-english forums :eek:

Is there an acronym list anywhere, or can somebody point out the most common acronyms?

So far I've seen:

SMN - picking summoner
BLM - picking black mage
AoE - already know this one, area of effect
LB - ?
AK - ?
AF - ?

Maybe one day in the not so distant future I'll be able to fully comprehend a thread without struggling through it!

LB - Limit Break
AK - Amdapor Keep
AF - Artifact Armor ( the stuff you get via job quest at 45/50)

You can learn all the class/job abbreviations by looking at gear and skills, since it uses them to tell you who can equip what.

The classes/jobs all have abbreviations that are actually used in the game, so these are good to know:

GLA - Gladiator
PLD - Paladin

MRD - Marauder
WAR - Warrior

PGL - Pugilist
MNK - Monk

LNC - Lancer
DRG - Dragoon

ARC - Archer
BRD - Bard

THM - Thaumaturge
BLM - Black Mage

CNJ - Conjurer
WHM - White Mage

ACN - Arcanist
SMN - Summoner
SCH - Scholar

ALC - Alchemist
ARM - Armorer
BSM - Blacksmith
CRP - Carpenter
CUL - Culinarian
GSM - Goldsmith
LTW - Leatherworker
WVR - Weaver

BTN - Botanist
FSH - Fisher
MIN - Miner

A good rule of thumb to keep in mind is that class/job abbreviations have three letters (SMN, DRG, PLD, etc), while dungeons generally have two (AK, AV, CC, etc). Can give you a general idea of what it is that's talked about even if you don't know the exact meaning. :) Other than those two things, you'd only have to learn the special cases, like AoE (and its variations, like PBAoE), LB and AF.
