A guy I know at my local comic shop told me today that a warrior is the worst tank in the game. He said they were just supposed to be damage dealers.
It got to the point that he said he would never run missions or dungeons with him if I did a tank role.
Is this true? I started my character under the impression that I'd be tanking.
I've been tanking and thought I'd been doing good. But I haven't gotten to Warrior yet.
Thoughts or opinions?
Warriors are clearly tanks. The only debate is about endgame content, and mostly about Binding Coil. Warriors have tanked bosses there, but they tend to require a higher gear level and/or specific class setups than Paladins.
Dungeons from 1-50 Warriors have absolutely no problem tanking instances.
Tanked HM Ifrit without any problems. Your friend is a douche.
Warrior's are straight up tanks. They just need some reworking/rebalancing for high level play.

Warrior reporting in, tanked everything including primals HM easy.Stole aggro 1v1 from many PLD and kept it on boss fights.
