4K resolution UHD gaming ; Noaki Yoshi interview clip from IFA 2013

Hello, here is a link to a video concerning 4k UHD resolution and gaming; at 5:16 into the clip, Noaki Yoshida discuss FFXIV graphics.

Unfortunately this seems like nothing more than a **** fest for the three companies to plug each other every twenty seconds. The first part of the clip is Nvidia talking up Panasonic, then it's Project Cars's studio touting Nvidia and Panasonic.

The curious bit is with Yoshi where he discusses graphics and quality. He goes on to say that they managed to achieve "unprecedented gaming experience without compromising quality,' and claims it's via Nvidia hardware.
Now we've seen Nvidia and AMD have their hand in game title development, where you get those splash screens claiming the game was made with certain hardware in mind. It's pretty standard and most of us have come to accept it as the norm.

This video though concerned me for several reasons :

A) There is no native 4k texture support in ARR and to my knowledge no definitive plans or even discussion(source?) of this being implemented
B) A lot of Nvidia users(and some Radeon) are dealing with odd performance issues, like the infamous camera panning that we're discussing in the technical forum - which is strange and abnormal in such a way that it's a client issue. The question then arises, how concrete was their 'Nvidia' development?
C) The blatant plugging and blind boosting of Nvidia and Panasonic seems completely trite given that there is no 4k content shown for ARR.
D) Graphics in ARR is still a hotly debated item and despite a promise of DX11 (which won't be anytime soon), it won't make a significant difference to fix the glaring issues like texture crawl(no super sample AA support), terrible shadow distance render, low shadow resolution, poor flora/leave meshes, generally low texture quality and etc.

It makes me wonder how much of what he says is marketing, how much is actually truth and how much is outright bullsh**.

No moral or point here, just food for thought on where graphics are heading with this game and an overall unsavory feeling towards Naoki.
