Bees in Qarn

Is it true that you can kite the bees and they will die on their own? Had a party last night and I died twice because no one DPS'd bees and a BLM was saying to kite or die....

The bees aren't a problem if you concentrate your dps and take down the bees as quick as you can, but even at that they take a good bit of time activating their "Final Sting" and it also can be stunned, no kiting required :) I think the problem was that your party just weren't listening to you xD

^ Pretty much this. Stuns and focusing DPS make the bees a joke, of course the other joke being getting DPS to focus on them most of the time. I tend to find myself having to stun them as well as tanking them.

it is ranged I dont think your BLM new anything about QARN there is a way to eat the sting without getting killed but it requires dodge/cd's to pull off.

They do die off by themselves... when they do the final sting and prolly kill you or give you a huge scare.

Final Sting is a ranged attack so kiting wont do you much good and it's going to one-shot pretty much anyone besides the tank. If the bees are getting around to casting Final Sting in the first place it means your dps isn't killing them fast enough. If your damage dealers are even halfway decent it takes all of a few seconds for each one to kill a bee on their own.

it one shots tank too. in both runs I've done for qarn the first bee always has managed to kill me (i already got the gld drop on it so i'm unwilling to do more runs).

though it might be because i usually am not at full health because i just aggro-ed the entire group....

It deals more damage based on its remaining hp, so the lower you get it before the sting goes off the less life threatening it is - However a tank getting hit by 2 of them even whittled down is still about 1.5-2k damage.

Its just a dps race, the only way to cheese past the bees is put a titan egi on them, they will both final sting the titan, then just resummon titan
