Can someone get FFXIV for the ps3 then download the launcher on the pc and play it there?

I'm pretty sure you have to purchase the PC version of the client. Then you can link both accounts and play your characters on either platform.

If you re-format your PC you'll have to download it again but it's still linked to your Square Enix account.
