I personally go for +crit over spellspeed. The decrease in cast time is pretty negligible compared to the amount of crit I seem to get for equal stats.
In PvE you want crit, because you want to nuke harder, not faster since youll be burning your mana faster and doing the same damage.
In PvP you'll want speed casting.
Hmmm why accuracy? When does magic ever miss?
Spell speed is horrible the way it's implemented atm. 300+ spell speed will decrease your cast times by hundredths of a second. Crit, on the other hand, does have a noticeable effect on DPS.
For secondary stats: Determination > Crit > Spell Speed/Accuracy
Considering the stats individually might not be the most useful way to go about things. It seems that it's a pretty simple choice. AF> Demagogue set> Darklight > AF2/ heroes > Allegan. maybe throwing in the vanya set after demagogue if you're particularly wealthy.
Trust me, if you ever get into coil you will want accuracy. The current theory is around 475ish to cap. You will cry if you dont have close to or over that. It sucks missing a spell, especially when transitioning from ice to fire or vice versa. Also missing fire I hits, which loses proc chance and you can miss your procs themselves. It's a huge dps loss. I'd reccommend probably 420/430 at minimum before even going, I made the mistake of going in with 395 the first time and boy did that suck.
Worst thing is all this gear with spell speed which is so completely worthless. Nothing like having 450+ spell speed and it literally only takes .1 of a second off. Also fun minigame managing your gear so you don't drop too much accuracy when getting new peices. I think Accuracy food(cabbage and toad legs) are going to be insanely useful.
do we have a thread where all this gear drops from? is it amador keep?
Did coil today with 431 accuracy, missed maybe 1 or 2 spells (that I noticed) over the course of the ten tries it took us to beat Caduceus. 450 is probably good enough, maybe use some cheap-ish food on top to buff you up a little.
But yeah, missing a spell sucks, and it always happens at the worst time. You have convert in an emergency, but on fights like Caduceus your healers aren't going to top your HP back up in a hurry.
