SO I hit 45 on the bard

Yeah I'm enjoying it, don't come bashing me saying easy dps. I picked it because supposedly its the lease common class on Diabolos. So I hit 45 hearing this talk about AF gear and what not, what I'm getting at is? For my stats what is the hit cap for accuracy since I've been sacrificing crit rating for as much accuracy I can get my hands on since I've been noticing that my dots randomly have been missing. On gear what should I be focusing on and where are some places I should go to get some since everyone in my guild is offline at the moment?

I would have to say acc>crit>skilspeed. I don't know for sure, because I have yet to run into a bunch of bards on my server and it has yet to come up in my Fc company even though there are a dozen of level 50 bards. If find out what it is. I would love to hear it.

I was thinking of that as well, but also thought skillspeed would be useful since it'd help me apply poisons on faster.

I wouldn't worry too much about Skill Speed. From the numbers I've seen by people much smarter than me, the impact of this stat is considerably less that the impact of other stats like Crit Rate and Acc. Personally, I would go for Crit Rate before Acc if all you're noticing is some missed DoT attacks. The damage you are missing out on from a single missed Poison is easily made up for by increased chances of Crits.

Yes you've been a ton of help, thanks for taking the time to respond to this. :D

Have you thought about why maybe your dots are missing other than a "lack" of accuracy? For instance, are your initial dots placed with buffs on such as internal release or some sort of crit boost? If this is the case, the game will not let you place dots of a lower "potency". You wind/venom take your current stats/buffs for the damage modifier so once those wear off, if you go to cast wind/venom again before they run out the actual dot will miss/not apply.

I just want to remind people contemplating acc vs crit that crit does +50% damage so technically you need 2x grits to make up for one missed shot. This is not taking into consideration that crit does not increase effects on debuffs while a missed shot is a missed debuff.

So in theory id say go acc until deminishing returns make crit about twice as effective and go crit for the rest. Unless crit has dimminishing return of its own then its just complicated.

Also stoneskin causes the dot effects to not be applied.

How many people here are pushing coil?

I want them to tell me the numbers needed =(

Because I have never missed an attack on an equal level enemy or boss...for me, accuracy that we get baseline is high enough that any extra leeway you get should be being put into crit.

For me, accuracy and skill speed are bottom of my list of stats, as bards run out of tp so quickly, especially in AoE situations.
