Inter-city travel expenses:Airship should cost TIME not Money
Dear devs:
Airship (and LL-Ul'dah ferry) expenses involve one digit too many. I am already seeing players bow out of "face-to-face" contact due to prohibitive travelling expenses between cities and an over-arching "money is finite" stigma attached to the game by non-renewing quest rewards. In my opinion, airships should be in the same pricing scheme as chocobo porters: time over money. Teleports exist as priced-high-for-convenience, on-demand transport that we can choose to burn money to use. I would happily sit through a long trip (minute or two) to fly on an airship that was 50 gil or less.
Chocobo porters have the right idea for a pricing scheme to assemble patient players. Given the option to pay in time or money, I'll usually pick time, and when I wish to pick money, that should be my choice. That's a core tenet of this game, as I understand it.
We have an instant, 3-digit travel option, let's put the airships more in line with porters.
