Can i transfer from one laptop to another?

I was playing on an old laptop that didn't run the game so well, so i figured it was time for an upgrade (not just because of this game). So i went out and bought a new laptop but later realized that it doesn't have a cd drive to put the cd in and you still cant download online yet. Is there a way i can transfer the game from my old laptop to this new one? Please help and thanks in advance.

It would never work as doing it that way does not make the required registry entries.

Just as a side note I think it does work since that was what I did for my desktop to laptop, i just copied the game folder to the same location as on my desktop and it ran fine.

Like most download games these days (WoW, GW2, SC2, D3, FFXIV:ARR) the game client folder is what you need.

And for FFXIV macros/hud layout/keymaps, you will need to copy the "Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn" over too
