Regarding account registration on ps3. Major issue.

I convinced my bro to join the game, he's on the ps3. So, he went through
the installation and SE registration. Directly after which he is prompted to
go to his email and receive a confirmation code.

So, using his ps3 the only option he has is to close the game and open the
internet browser on the ps3 to receive the code. However, The log in link
provided in the email prompts him to log in, which he cannot do because the
account has not been created due to the confirmation code not being entered.

When re-launching the game all registration steps must be re-entered, but
after this step it says a confirmation code has already been sent to this email.

There is no way to enter the confirmation code when registering from a ps3
as your sole device for connecting. It can't do email page and game software
at once.

So currently he is locked out from creating an account for 24 hrs due to the
code having expired. And upon being able to send a new confirmation code
to his email he will again have an issue in getting to the step where entry of
the code is accepted.

Is there a way around this for someone who's only connection to internet
access is ps3?

Or, is it not possible to create an SE account w/o a secondary connection
separate from ps3?

In any event he's screwed for 24hrs. Very frustrating.

So there is no way to register an SE account using only the ps3?
He has the game installed and registered. But it seems there is no
way for him to complete the SE account creation so he can finish
patching.

So he should, for instance; use the internet browser on his ps3 to go to the SE site?
Start and complete the registration from there?
I guess that makes sense. Ps3 can open a separate tab in the browser? so he could
have his email open and the registration site at the same time?

Sounds like that's the way to go. I guess going through the install and product registration
first and then being prompted to create an SE account through the game software is what
lead him into this problem.
