Dealing with Spammers

just want irritating gold spammers to go away? Here's how to get spammers off your back in a significant way. You need to be able to follow these 2 steps.

1. Open a new chat tab, call it whatever you like. Copy all of the filters from the general tab minus the shout channel. Use this channel as your main chat window. I know its unfortunate that we lose shout but this is the primary method the spammers are using to harass us so, its gotta go.

2. Sometimes spammers are going to target you directly with /tell to send their little messages to you. You can stop them from doing it again by using this command /blist add <r> and boom, it will blacklist the last person who sent you a tell.

This is a basic technique of making them invisible to you. It does not help the problem at all for anyone else but yourself but it's a solid way of protecting your sanity.

I had to block Vin Diesel the other day in Central Thanalan on Cactuar. This was very hard for me to do.

I had to blacklist William Shakespeare... "To buy, or not to buy Gil. That's the question!"

(he didn't say that, but I kind of wished he did...)
