NPC Sell Back Prices Are Way Too Low

I get that they are trying to stop RMT, everyone gets it, They've put in so many things that limit gameplay like only FL delivery, no trading to mules, on and on ect.

But the NPC sell back prices are insanely low.

What's the problem with this?
I see stuff that should cost 1000s going for 5 gil on the AH or less... The undercutting market is out of control on Legacy.

I just sold and bought back from an NPC the level 55 HQ Militia Harness I crafted for 176 Gil or 1/4 the price it costs to teleport from LL to Grid.... I mean come on...

At least when the market went to **** in XI the NPC sell price set the lower barrier... And no I can't just buy up everything and resell it, because nothing is selling except for a few untainted markets, one of my retainers is now full, and I don't feel like NPCing everything for 1 gil.

I would agree with this argument. Not asking for the NPC vendors to be competitive with what you could earn on the Markets but at least make it worthwhile to vendor stuff.

I feel you on this and while in some ways I don't agree I'll still like your post. I really don't see the sell prices getting changed until the game has stabilized.
probably after 2.1 or 2.2.

I find myself staring at the npc buy prices then my repair costs on the same gear. Something is fundamentally wrong when it costs over 10x more to fix something than an npc will pay you to buy it.

Re-examine after update and see what it looks like. Lowering repair costs is a nice start

I just saw they're decreasing the repair which is a great start.


But I'm deeply concerned about the amount of materials up on the Markets, and there's really no system in place to remove them. There's far too much up, and at prices way too low.. maybe it's because you can gather everything yourself, but I see a TON of people crafting, but the buying/selling seems pretty slow, especially for 7000 active people on the server.

I know a lot of people are leveling now, and in a year lower level things will probably start selling for good prices again, but Spirt binding seems to take a REALLY long time, even wearing +spirtbind gear, I managed to take my Carp tool from 39-48 and it was still only 65% binded.. I mean I'll never use that tool again and it's just trash now.
