Greetings!
This is my first post! first I would like to preface that this is only my second mmo. the only other one I have played is DC Universe Online. I'm playing on the PS3 cuz I mainly just enjoy playing games on a console and not a PC which is why I've not tried many other big mmos.
so far I'm of course loving the game but at the same time it is a tad overwhelming. anyhow...my primary question I guess right now is that my main starting class I chose is an arcanist as I wanted a DPS class. I'm now learning in the game you can basically learn all classes? so does that mean having an alt is basically pointless unless you want your character to be a different race, sex, or other cosmetic features? Also, I really want the unicorn! So I decided to go to the conjurers guild and stop my leveling as an arcanist so I can get that to 30 to get the unicorn. Is it not in my best interest to do this though? Should I get my arcanist to a certain level first since it is my main class?

in short you can level all classes/jobs to level 50 on one char. The only reasons to have an alt is to check out other server populations or storage space.
at level 30 ACN you do have a choice to make, SMN, SCH or both. -
