still silent
is it just me or is it still quite in the game? I have shouted at camps offering people a chance to join in on my leves. I've heard with leve linking and higher star difficulty it gives good SP/XP but no one takes me up on it. I've heard that a lot of people stick with their LS which is ok but it's hard to get an LS. I don't see shouts and when I shout it makes people mad for some reason.
I like to find a group to play with or at the least a LS just to shot the shit with but it seems that people don't want to talk.

Not on my server.. lul x.x

Sometimes its hard to get people to shut up on Besaid....
-
Yeah, it's pretty quiet on my server (Rabanastre) too...it's not a HUGE population or anything but it has a fairly decent amount of people :X The only times I hear others talking are during Behests and very rarely I will find two people talking in camps...most of the city talk is a single sentence in another language...and I've only seen two people ever talk in the city >_> Shouting, at least.
-
Besaid is insanely quiet imo... yes people DO in fact talk here and there but for anyone who has ever played a mmo... especially one with a population of our size, its still really freakishly... umm... silent :_(

I randomly come across chatter in the towns on Trabia but not so much out in the world, though if anyone has trouble getting an LS on Trabia feel free to look me up (Wobi Arumai) I have members come and go, would be nice to recruit some reliable folks who want to help grow the LS more : )

I'm on Trabia and it's dead silent. I have two LS for the different time periods i play in, but when i try to talk in a crowded camp not a single soul answers, even though they are soloing the same leves i'm proposing them to team up for...

I actually decided to create a dummy character last night and see how busy Ul'dah was in almost every server that showed 2 or 3 chocobos. I realize that you can't judge a population solely based on the activity in one city but one would think the biggest hub on a server, during peak NA hours and on a day with no leve reset would be a decent sample. I was surprised (and happy) to see that my server, Karnak, was one of, if not the busiest of them all :) Now that may not be saying much, kinda like a sports team with a crowd of 300 people in a stadium that holds 50,000 boasting about having the highest attendance its had in 6 months, but it was reassuring to me that we're doing good compared to the others.
If anyone sees this and wants to try out Karnak I encourage you to do so. Its free to create alts so you're not losing anything by giving it a shot! We may just be the last good server left!
P.S. I found it somewhat funny that when I logged on to Selbina, not only was there hardly any activity at first (2 or 3 crafters and a few afk) but when I finally ran into the first LS that looked to be assembling for an event they were completely rude to me lol. I put out a /shout and said I was a new player from Karnak and that I was thinking about switching to their server and was responded to with a shout "we don't like your kind around here" and then when I ran by they made fun of the appearance of my character (it was obvious they were just trying to be jerks for no reason, I made the most generic Highland male I could).
I thought it was funny because here's a server that is obviously having a hard time and when the players left should be doing everything they can to keep new players there & possible roll overs to stay, these guys were doing everything they could to get me to leave. I'm sure I just ran into a Jack--- that shouldn't represent their server as a whole (we all have them) but I just found it ironic.

I'm on Wutai and it's rare anyone speaks. It's rare anyone actually does anything all i ever seem to see is hordes of people standing still.

Selbina here..Hate it. No one says a word. I will ask if anyone wants to group up for leves, etc but no one says anything ever. I've been playing on and off since December and just yesterday was the first time I grouped with someone not doing behest.. I dont understand why people stay quiet. Heck, I've even asked around in towns for an active linkshell that talks, and get no replies.
I honestly dont think the game is terrible, and I enjoy it when I am in a party. The community is what is killing this game for me. I dont understand the lack of conversation in game..
