As a lala, any time I lock target that is even slightly larger than me, my camera view is forced to an upward position, and I'm unable to zoom out or see anything around me. If they could make it so your view is locked so you can't swivel side to side but up to down, it would fix this issue. I was unable to see the cone of attack on the ground fighting old six-arms, and got repetitively trounced.
Had the same problem in xi, and really wish they'd do something about this.
Just had to fight a golem. Same problem. What can you see here? Nothing. Because I"m locked looking strait up unless I back out to far to be able to hit him.

bind mouse 4 or mouse 5 to target lock, and disable auto target lock on auto attack.
temporary fix i'm using as a tank to run out of AoE's.

It's a pain, again I was fighting a fate monster and the same thing happened.
