Bard Limit Break

It would be geat if this DPS class had a DPS Limit Break. It's apparent they aren't going to be a pure 'support' class since their songs are lackluster (especially with a 20% damage penalty) and they can no longer use CNJ skills. Not to mention there are other classes with comparable amounts of utility/support.

So while I have sometimes enjoyed being able to take the proverbial 'don't look at me' stance when it comes to deciding how and when to use a DPS limit break for a fight it would be really nice if bards had a damage based limit break.

No one has comparable support and the bard does more than enough damage to equal out the missing Damage LB. The Heal LB on the Bard can also be pretty useful.

Protect. Blows bard songs out of the water. Lets see what else.
Paladins can stun non-stop, I guess that would be more 'utility' than strict support but again, more sought after than bard songs.
Dragoons get a nice slow. Repose/Sleep is classic support. Arcanist Virus debuff. Those are just the ones off the top of my tired head I'm sure there is more.

Advantage of beeing range, compared to the dd's that have the Damage Limit Break. Silence, not sharing the DR of the Stuns beeing the best alternative to interupt. And yeah, Songs are awesome... oh you get that rain of arrows thingy that reduces the damage dealt by 10% or something.
Your class is soooo loaded with support and gives alot of ranged dps, if there is one class nothing needs changed, than its bard.

Also, you just did list a few support spells of other classes, everyone got a bit of support but not as much as bard. At least now, you have to bring a melee on a tight dps encounter, not that they are bad but so far everyone is rolling with 39230532 bards in every raid.

this sounds like a big "WAAAAAAAAAAH I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO PLAY SONGS!" post to me. none of those things you listed are even in the same ballpark as giving all your healers back mana when they need it or the raid will wipe, or giving your other dps'ers the tp to spam aoes. i'll be honest, I don't play songs often, but when I do it's because they are required. Also no one is bringing a bard for their dps. If you want pure dps you bring summoners. they aren't like black mages who rely very heavily on procs.

Bard current LB is a life saver in hard mode. I have now used it countless time on Ifrit/Garuda. And only Bard can use it (healers do not have time for that)

I hope SE do not listen to bard whine because this is a tool that is really needed.

my only rage with bard LB is the animation after the healing is so freaking long.

DoM DPS also have a DPS limit break so that doesn't hold water.

Rarely works on things people actually want interrupted. EXTREMELY situational.

TP song is useless unless your DoW's are bad at knowing what skills to use. MP song is rarely needed when things are going correctly. Its a last ditch attempt to save the party when people keep dying the and healers have to keep raising/power dumping heals.

Pretty much the only ability I would call worthwhile support. It also has a huge drawback of DESTROYING TP and being bad for min/max playing if you try to keep it up.

Not for their support. It's because they are ranged DPS that can scoot and shoot. Yet another reason why they are more DPS than support. None of this is more telling than that SE took away the ability to use CNJ abilities.

The thread is titled 'Bard Limit Break' and I never said I hated playing songs yet some how you pulled out that I was whining about playing songs. Way to read.

If they want Bards to be support/utility then do it. Now they are between the two leaning DPS more than Support. There is no facility to balance things out with a support role. This isn't FF11. They either need to make them slightly more DPS oriented (damage limit break) or do an overhaul to make them support based

Show me a min/max monk rotation on any long term fight that doesn't lead to being tp starved. It isn't useless and you aren't using wrong skills if you are tp starved, on monk atleast.
