I'm taking back my Vote for Content (Poll #1)

I actually wish now that SE had saved all the piecemeal Quests for a large update and once Companies are up and running, I will probably be OK with fewer small updates (if quest related) and more gameplay updates (battle system/UI/class skills, etc).

I know, I know..you just can't please some people and I do seem to recall that after the Poll Results, some warned that this would happen. I am Rogedyn enough to admit when I am wrong...and I was wrong.

I now find myself not wanting to do some of the new Content if the Battle Mechanics and Job Classes will be different enough to change the experience. I should just quit and come back in few months and be pleasantly surprised but I can't...I am hooked and being spoon-fed is better than not being fed at all.

I agree. I thought having quests in this game would instantly win me over to play this game. The slap-dash way the flavor text is written and the lack of proper storytelling and variation in gameplay however made me lose interest after about 5 quests. They just feel like leves.

I'm now just looking forward to the battle changes because it just might make some of the existing content to play differently. As always all i can do is wait and not play which is really frustrating.

Maybe you guys should just wise up and leave?

The quests ended up better than I thought. Lots of good lore in there, and with 1.17 and 1.17a they work as a good hyping machine.

They're nothing like leves in that sense, which is why they were implemented in the first place. Leves need other forms of storytelling in the future. BUT AS WE KNOW, the informed masses voted that guildleves are unimportant and thus we'll probably see them getting better after everything else. Thanks guys.

Really? What kind of logic is that on SE's part?!
Wouldn't the natural option be to play to their strengths and produce content that the majority favors (whatever that is) and to de-emphasize the importance of disliked content. Oh man =(

I knew there would be people regretting what they voted for on the poll. But it is what it is.

The natural option is not, unlike what you might believe, to de-emphasize content that isn't favored by the players (because that is a lot of work gone waste) but to make said content better so that players will like it.

While the community's logic is "The current incarnation of system X is not good, SO AXE IT and do something else from the scratch."

Because it just makes sense to de-emphasize a lot of content that can be made good in a few simple or slightly larger tweaks.

We now have like 8? separate Quest Systems, with 2 more still coming soon. FFXIV now has more quest systems active then any other MMO in history in the first year it was active as far as I remember.
