Are we allowed to have user made add-ons?

Are we allowed to have user made add-ons?

I read on their website a while ago about the plans for ff14 and they said we could use user made addons, but i see no sort of interface to do with it. Are we going to be able to use them without breaking rules? is it just a case of waiting until people actually make them?, the game being rather new and all :P

I'm quite sure that it won't be long before addons start coming out. And not long after that they'll wind up being on Curse just like all the others.

i think currently its forbidden to create/use any add-ons or program that uses data from ffxiv

If there's any add-ons out now - No you are not allowed to use them. SE said 8 months after release they'll release support for player made add-ons.

SE is developing a UI add on system that we'll be able to use, but the current stuff people are making that hooks into the game and stuff? that's not allowed, officially.
